WebDrive

WebDrive is an FTP client software that allows you to easily open and edit server-based files without the additional step of downloading the file. Using a simple wizard you assign a network drive to My.Seneca Content System. Then, connecting to the Content System through a virtual WebDrive, you will be able to access and edit files on My.Seneca in the same way you interact with files on your local computer.

NOTE: WebDrive allows you to easily access files. However,  permissions, sharing, versioning, etc. must be performed through My.Seneca.

Installing WebDrive on Microsoft® Windows Computers

The following set of instructions will guide you in the installation of WebDrive on your computer.

Before you can install WebDrive, please ensure you have downloaded the latest copy of the installation file and you must be logged in to My.Seneca.

Installation file for Microsoft® Windows Operating Systems (2000/XP/Vista/7)

Setup file for Windows 32bit (recommended)

Setup file for Windows 64bit

  1. Save the file to your computer and then double click the file to have it execute.

  2. Once the Setup file is executed, Windows Install Wizard will open, click Next.

  3. Take the time to read and understand the License Agreement. Once you have Read and Accepted the License Agreement, click Next.

  4. Click Next.

  5. Click Install to begin the installation.

  6. Once the installation is complete, click Finish.

    WARNING: Your computer must be restarted before continuing further.

  7. Open WebDrive from the Program list in your Start Menu.

    When you open WebDrive for the first time, you will be prompted for licensing information. Click on Activate License.

  8. NOTE: The following step requires you to be logged in to My.Seneca with your username and password.

    Please visit https://my.senecacollege.ca/bbcswebdav/xid-1178253_3 to obtain the Product Registration Code. Copy and paste the registration code in the text field, then click Activate. A message box should inform you that activation was executed successfully, click OK. Then, click Finish to complete the activation process.

  9. WebDrive will then open.
